Actress Charlize Theron is speaking out against the lack of bi representation in cinema, while she is promoting her new film, Atomic Blonde.
In Atomic Blonde, Charlize plays Lorraine Broughton, a top-level MI6 agent and bisexual badass, on a top secret mission following the collapse of the Berlin Wall in 1989.
While appearing on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, Theron was asked why it was so important for her character to be recognized as bisexual.
“Why not?”, Theron replied. “It should be normalised by now.”
“It’s something that I feel is not represented enough in cinema and I feel like when you make movies, if you’re gonna hold that mirror up and reflect society, then you should reflect society.”
Charlize then tells Andy that she has been with a woman in her younger years!
