Freddie Mercury Biopic Will Not Mention the AIDS Crisis

It seems like they have been trying to put together a  Freddie Mercury/Queen biopic for many years.  In fact, it has been rumored around Hollywood that they could not seem to keep the same group of writers and directors for this project.

But alas, Queen just confirmed the film is “finally happening” and Rami Malek will star as Freddie Mercury. Bryan Singer, a very famous gay director (X-Men franchise films) is set to direct.

The shocking and unsettling news is that the film will not even mention the AIDS crisis, which really doesn’t make any sense at all!   Mercury died from AIDS in 1991, which was one of the most mourned death of AIDS in the history of the disease.  Bryan Singer should know how important it is to include this in the film.
