Today is “National HIV Testing Day” and OraQuick just posted a new video starring Karl Westerberg aka Manila Luzon.
The first “National HIV Testing Day” was on June 27, 1995, the annual observance is aimed at encouraging people to get tested for HIV and become educated about their status. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, in 2014, an estimated 1.1 million people age 13 and older were living with HIV. Of those, an estimated 166,000 people had not been diagnosed.
Oraquick explained their stance by saying “Owning your sexuality and sexual health is about being confident. It’s about the power that comes from knowing your HIV status so you can make whatever decisions you believe are the best for you and your partner. And we all own it in different ways because no person and no relationship is the same.”
